Google has just released a new version of Google app on the Play Store. The APK teardown of the updated Google app with the build number 7.10 has revealed an interesting piece of information
Apparently, the search giant is working on a pair of headphones that will be equipped with Google Assistant. 9To5Google is the first publication to have noticed this. 

It is also revealed that the headphones are codenamed as Bisto. Well, the Bisto codename had previously appeared in the strings of the beta version of Google app's 7.0 version. While its references were taken down, it was spotted again a few days ago.

However, initially, it was believed to be a portable audio device. This time, it is kind of confirmed that instead of a portable audio device, Google is working on a pair of headphones codenamed as Bisto.

"Your headphones have the Google Assistant. Ask it questions. Tell it to do things. It's your own personal Google, always ready to help," states one string. 

Apparently, people will be able to ask questions through the mic of Bisto headphones and Google Assistant will respond to them. Moreover, users will be able to reply to notifications with voice commands. The headphones are likely to feature a dedicated Google Assistant button along with another button at the top.

Another string gives out some information on directions; "To hear them, press the Google Assistant button. Press the Google Assistant button. To hear them, press and hold the top button. Press and hold the top button."

So users would have to long press the Google Assistant button to talk to the headphone. while to get a reply from the Google Assistant, you would have to press and hold the top button.

As of now, we don't know when will Google introduce the Bisto headphones. Its pricing aspect is not known as well. That being said, there is a possibility that Google may launch the headphones alongside its Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 smartphones in October.

If on time, we have less than a month left till the launch of iPhone 8. Being the 10th-anniversary model, the hype around the smartphone is understandable.


Today, we have come across images of the iPhone 8's display assembly on Weibo. While there are a bunch of images, we will be focusing on the most important one. From the image shown above, you can see the digitizer and the connecting cables. 

There are four circular cut-outs and a slit for the earpiece at the top. Presumably, the front camera and the iris scanner will be placed on the right. The small circle on the left should be a sensor, while the bigger one could be a LED flash.

 That being said, we are not too convinced that the iPhone 8's front camera will be accompanied by a LED flash. Interestingly, the alleged opening for LED flash sports a different color than others. Going by earlier leaks, the iris scanner on the iPhone 8 is expected to be positioned on the left. 

The display assembly further reveals that the smartphone will arrive with a full-screen design. Apparently, the front of the iPhone 8 will be dominated by the screen. 

So the upcoming flagship will feature an almost bezel-less display with a striking resemblance to the Android biggies such as the LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8/S8 Plus. Of late, we got to come across several new reports about the iPhone 8 suggesting that the device might come with a few features that have been never seen before. 

The upcoming Apple smartphone is believed to feature a wireless charging support and come in a copper color variant as some of the Android devices in the market. In fact, the copper color variant is catching up with the trend in the recent days.

Google is set to release the next iteration of its Android OS Android O on 21 August which is the day of the US total solar eclipse. While we are just a day away from the launch, most of the smartphone manufacturers are now gearing up to provide the new update to their recently launched smartphones.

As such, one of the top brands Samsung is also preparing for the update and is looking forward to providing Android O for its smartphones with its Grace UI on top which will be better optimized to run the software smoothly. 

While the company has been a bit slow in providing updates, hopefully, this time Samsung rolls out the update at a much faster pace. In any case, the first Samsung smartphones to receive the update would be the ones which were released with Android 7.1 Nougat pre-installed.

Cyber attacks seem to be on the rise and while we have already heard about WannaCry and others in the past few months, now a new security threat has appeared.

As per Moscow-based cyber security firm Kaspersky Lab, a new modification of notorious mobile banking Trojan "Faketoken" has resurfaced in the online domain. This new type of malware is able to steal credentials from popular taxi applications and ride-sharing apps.

"The new version of 'Faketoken' performs live tracking of apps and, when the user runs a specified app, overlays this with its phishing window to steal the bank card details of the victim," Kaspersky Lab said in a statement.

What's frightening is that this trojan virus features an identical interface as the taxi apps, even with the same color schemes and logos, and it further creates an instant and completely invisible overlay.

"The fact that cyber criminals have expanded their activities from financial applications to other areas, including taxi and ride-sharing services, means that the developers of these services may want to start paying more attention to the protection of their users," said Viktor Chebyshev, Security Expert at Kaspersky Lab.

"The banking industry is already familiar with fraud schemes and tricks, and its previous response involved the implementation of security technologies in apps that significantly reduced the risk of theft of critical financial data," Chebyshev added.

According to Kaspersky Lab, the new version of "Faketoken" has targeted mostly Russian users but they believe the geography of attacks could easily be extended in the future.

Talking more about the "Faketoken" virus, the security firm has said that it steals all incoming SMS messages by redirecting them to its command and control servers, allowing criminals to get access to one-time verification passwords sent by a bank, or other messages sent by taxi and ride-sharing services. And that's not it. Among other things, the malware also monitors users' calls, records them and transmits the data to the command and control servers.

Kaspersky researchers have also detected 'Faketoken' attacks on other popular mobile applications, such as travel and hotel booking apps, apps for traffic fine payments, Android Pay and the Google Play Market. Hopefully, an immediate solution will be created in order to combat this dangerous virus.

we know that the Xiaomi is all set to take the wraps off the Redmi Note 5A on August 21 at a press conference to be held in China. The company's president Lin Bin will be present at the event.

The Redmi Note 5A has been hitting the rumor mills and leaks frequently since the last month. It had appeared even on the regulatory website TENAA revealing its key specs. With the launch date approaching closer, we have another detail about the upcoming Xiaomi device hit the web.

According to a GizmoChina report citing a Weibo post, the Redmi Note 5A has been teased by the company revealing that it will have a soft flash accompanying the selfie camera at the front. 

In that case, the Redmi Note 5A will be the first Xiaomi smartphone to feature a selfie flash. Lately, the front flash trend is making its way into the smartphone market with the increase in the selfie trend. 

The front flash will help clicking better selfies at night or low light areas offering enhanced illumination.

Notably, even the Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun shared a picture showing the Note 5A's front flash turned on. It seems to be positioned on the opposite side from where the selfie camera is located.

Besides the presence of a selfie flash, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A appears to feature a 5.5-inch HD 720p display and make use of a Snapdragon 425 SoC paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The device is said to arrive in another variant with a Snapdragon 625 SoC with two configurations - 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB. The imaging department is said to comprise of a 13MP main camera at its rear and a 5MP selfie camera as well. The other aspects that we can expect include a fingerprint sensor and a 3000mAh battery.

The Redmi Note 5A is believed to be priced around 999 yuan (approx. Rs. 9,500) for the base model and 1,199 yuan (approx. Rs. 11,500) for the high-end model. From the existing information, it looks like it will be launched in different color options such as gray, black, silver, gold, red, white and pink.

Microsoft has unveiled Windows 10 Pro for Workstations. Windows 10 Pro has been designed for server grade PC hardware and for strictly professional purposes. The operating system is best suited for machines with several logical processors and expanded RAM. 

The operating system has four major features that make it the best choice among competitors, that is if there are any, for high-end server machines which are: Resilient File System enabled(ReFS) by default: This feature will provide servers with optimization to handle data in large volumes and offering security against data corruption.

 Support for non-volatile memory modules (NVDIMM-N) with persistent memory: This feature will ensure that the read and write speeds are as fast as possible and the files will be accessible even when the server is powered off.

Apple just launched the iOS 11 public beta for the whole world to try, and holy heck, don't get too excited yet. Obviously, your iPhone or iPad will be cooler than all your friends' are if you're running the new software before any of them. There will be consequences, though.

First off, not all Apple devices will run iOS 11. You'll need an iPhone 5s or newer, a 5th generation iPad or newer, an iPad Mini 2 or newer, or an iPad Air (1 or 2). You can also install iOS 11 on a 6th generation iPod Touch, if that's your jam. (Check out a full list of compatible devices here .)

Next, you'll definitely want to back up your old device. It's now possible to revert back to iOS 10, if your experiment with iOS 11 is too bug-riddled, but it's not exactly easy. (Check out the instructions for how to do thathere .) But before you even think about installing the iOS 11 public beta, you must understand that the new operating system will be bug-riddled . 

Until the software gets an official release, you can expect your phone to be a big pain in the ass, featuring all kinds of new adventures like crashing apps and awful battery life. So you should consider running the new software on a secondary device, in order to avoid ruining your day-to-day phone usage.

If all this sounds fine to you, just head over to the Apple Beta Software Program page from the device you want to install the new software on. Hit "Sign Up," and then sign in with your Apple ID. Accept the agreement, navigate to the iOS tab, and download the iOS 11 software. After that, your device will open up the "Profile," and tap install until your phone reboots. Finally, when your phone boots back up, check for a new software update, and your phone will download the latest version of the iOS 11 beta.

Once you're all updated, have a blast. Impress your friends. Expect shit to crash! It will be annoying, but you'll feel so cool in your annoyance. Plus, the new software looks pretty great !

While we are waiting for Xiaomi to release the next big software update MIUI 9 for its smartphones, it seems the company has already started to roll out Android Nougat 7.0 update for its Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 smartphone.

Besides, the Nougat update seems to be part of the 8.5 MIUI version. The news was first made public by a group called Greek Xiaomi Lovers who posted a screenshot of an updated Redmi Note 4 on its Facebook page. 

The screenshot clearly shows that the smartphone is running Android version number 7.0 NRD90M and that it also includes Android security patches for the month of July. Just to recall Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 smartphone in January this year with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. 

The company has taken nearly seven months to bring the latest Android update for its popular handset Note 4. However, it looks like the update is being rolled out in Greece currently. The update is about 1.3GB in size and since the update is being rolled out over-the-air, it may take some time before it reaches any device. Users outside Greece can always check for updates manually by going to Settings ->About Phone -> Software Update.

In any case, Redmi Note 4 (review) users will now be able to experience Nougat and its features hands-on. Android Nougat will come with features like split-screen multitasking, more customizable quick settings, improved Google keyboard, enhanced notifications and recent applications window extended battery life, and more.

here is no information regarding the roll out in India but we are expecting the update to be rolled out soon in the country as well. Recently a banner on Flipkart revealed that the Redmi Note 4 will be getting the Android Nougat update soon. Unfortunately, Xiaomi has not announced any official date for the roll out.

YouTube Red and Google Play Music will be merged to set up a new streaming service. YouTube's head of music announced the plan during a panel session at the New Music Seminar conference in New York.

The merger has been planned to bring in new subscribers while also educating the existing consumers regarding the services making it easy for them to access the services offered from both the wings. Lyor Cohen stated during the session,"The important thing is combining YouTube Red and Google Play Music, and having one offering." Although Cohen did not give out any verdict over the merging of the apps on the mobile platform, it is being anticipated that it is highly unlikely.

 Cohen also stated that a direct collaboration with music labels and right holders will further give a new direction to the business. "In my mind, the missing piece on building these businesses is collaborating with the music industry, and not just making deals and going away and seeing how it works.

" The anticipation regarding the merger has been around for months but things got more clear when Google combined the teams working on YouTube Red and Google Play Music. An official statement from Google confirms the report," Music is very important to Google and we're evaluating how to bring together our music offerings to deliver the best possible product for our users, music partners, and artists. 

Nothing will change for users today and we'll provide plenty of notice before any changes are made." The diversification of Google's services has caused a lot of confusion and unnecessary complication among consumers. 

While YouTube Red offers free music to consumers without ads and option to save the videos Google Play Music is nothing different. Merging the two entities will give Google a better and easy way to provide services to consumers.

While Apple stays tight-lipped about its upcoming products, the rumor mill keeps coming up with new information almost every other day. Other than the iPhone 8, the Cupertino-giant is also speculated to release two more iPhones this year, iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus.


According to renowned tipster Benjamin Geskin, Foxconn's Zhengzhou factory has already started the trial production of the aforementioned devices.

 His Twitter post claims that the plant is working round the clock to launch the iPhone 8, iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus on time. So this means contrary to the majority of rumors, the iPhone 8 will be unveiled in September, just like every year.

 If the tipster's tweets hold any weight, Apple should be in the very initial stages of production; only 200 units per day, as claimed by his first post. While his second tweet states that Apple has managed to come up with a "test machine" that has an under-display fingerprint scanner. 

However, it should be noted that the tipster himself is not too confident about this last statement, as he uses the word "maybe". Another possibility is that the alleged testing machine could be a dummy or concept device. So it goes without saying that you should take Geskin's tweets with a grain of salt. 

Truth to be told until we get any confirmation from Apple itself, more such leaks will surface in the upcoming days. If the iPhone 8 indeed get launched on time, we would just have to wait for a little over a month from now. Hopefully, the device will go on sale from September as well.

Google recently rolled out the fourth and final Android O Developer Preview. This is the final preview to be announced before the roll out of the official Android O update to the consumers later this year.

However, the actual name of Android O is still not revealed. A few days ago Google employees in a Reddit AMA session said that they are yet to decide on the name. While the popular choices are Oreo and Oatmeal cookie, Google's VP has hinted at a different possibility. 

Going by his post on Twitter, the upcoming Android version will have an entirely different name. It might be called Orangina. Yes, you read it right. As you can see from the picture, it contains a number of names like Onion and Olive, but Orangina is in eye-catchy color and written in a bigger font. For those who are not aware, Orangina is sweet carbonated orange drink mainly found and consumed in France. 

The Google VP, who oversees Platforms and Ecosystem, however, has not explained the meaning of this picture. The post is captioned as #nocomment. So this is just our assumption. Having said that, if it turns out to be legit, Google will be breaking its tradition of naming its Android versions after desserts and candies. 

Talking about the features of Android O, it will offer notification channels, shortcut pinning, auto-fill, picture-in-picture mode to name a few. These features are expected to help increase the user engagement with the apps so that more users will upgrade to the upcoming Android O platform with time.

Chinese manufacturer Gionee has just launched a new smartphone called Gionee A1 Plus in India. Priced at Rs. 26,999, it is available in two color variants; Gray and Mocha Gold. To remind you, the smartphone was first unveiled earlier this year at the MWC 2017.

The key highlight of the Gionee A1 Plus is its camera setup and battery capacity. Hence, the tagline of the smartphone reads,"Super camera, super battery". In terms of design, the Gionee A1 Plus is made out of metal and has a sturdy appearance. That being said, it also looks quite premium, especially when seen from the rear panel where you will find the dual-lens camera setup. Read on to know about its specifications in detail.

  

Display and software

The Gionee A1 Plus comes with a massive 6-inch full HD IPS display with the resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The display is further protected by a 2.5D curved glass on top. 

For the software side of things, it runs on the Gionee's own Amigo OS 4.0 based on the Android 7.0 Nougat.

Under the hood Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an Octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 chipset that is comprised of 4 Cortex A-53 cores clocked at 2.5GHz and the other four clocked at 1.4GHz. 

The processor is backed up by 4GB of RAM to offer support for multitasking. The Gionee A1 Plus offers 64GB of inbuilt storage space that can be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card.

 Optics In terms of optics, the Gionee A1 Plus features a 20MP front-facing camera that is accompanied by a LED flashlight. The front camera also has a Face beauty mode to tweak the selfies you capture.

 At the rear, the device sports a dual camera setup consisting of a 13MP sensor and a 5MP sensor. The rear cameras come with Bokeh effect. Battery and connectivity The smartphone draws its energy from a large 4,550mAh battery unit that is said to last up to two days of moderate to heavy usage.

Chinese company Gionee seems to be working on a new smartphone codenamed as 'F109′. We say this as the said device has been spotted online by Slashleaks. Other than the render, some of its key specifications have also come to light.

To remind you, the Gionee F109 had previously appeared on TENAA. Coming back to the recent leak, the smartphone is likely to be a lower mid-range. 

While the render shows the device in Black color, it is expected to have a Gold color variant as well. As you can see, the Gionee phone is sporting a metal unibody design. In terms of design, it looks pretty mundane with a physical home button on the front.

Since the smartphone lacks a fingerprint scanner at the rear panel, the physical home button should double function as the fingerprint reader. The right side of the Gionee F109 bears the Power button and the volume rocker, while the right side is empty.

You can spot the Micro USB port and the 3.5mm standard audio jack at the bottom of the phone. Going to the rear panel, the device has a single camera lens that is accompanied by a LED flash.

Speaking of the specifications, the Gionee F109 is speculated to arrive with a 5-inch display with the resolution density of 720p. Under the hood, it is likely to be powered by a 1.25GHz MediaTek MT6737 chipset teamed with Mali-T720 GPU.

Storage-wise, it will have 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. In terms of optics, the Gionee smartphone could feature an 8MP primary shooter as well as a 5MP selfie camera at the front.

In addition, the Gionee F109 would also have a rather small 2,660mAh battery and Android 7.0 Nougat OS for software.

Recently, a render of the Google Pixel XL 2 that is likely to be launched in the fourth quarter of this year was leaked online. A popular YouTuber with the channel Concept Creator has created a new concept video of the Google Pixel XL 2 based on the leaked render.

The concept of the upcoming flagship shows that the device might combine both metal and glass in order to give a premium look. Also, it is believed to feature chamfered edges and curved corners. The device is also shown to feature a flat display with curved corners. 

It seems to be almost bezels at the side and has thin bezels at the top and bottom edges. Also, there seems to be no physical home button at the front. Also read: Google Pixel XL 2 will also feature Always On display The concept render of the Google Pixel XL 2 seems to have physical buttons on the side for the volume rocker and power controls. 

There seems to be a USB Type-C port at the bottom and a 3.5mm audio jack at the top of this device. The concept video shows that the smartphone might have a metal rear with the upper part of the same covered in glass. There appears to be a round-shaped rear-mounted fingerprint sensor too.

 The camera assembly consisting of a single sensor and LED flash along with two sensors for the laser and light autofocus are also seen. Nokia Edge is a long rumored concept smartphone. Going by the recent media reports, it looks like this one will be the upcoming Nokia flagship

From the nomenclature of Nokia Android smartphones that leaked along with their processor details, it is clear that there is no such Nokia device launching this year. But the Nokia 9 flagship with high-end specifications will be followed by another premium mid-range, which could be the Nokia 8. This smartphone is likely to be launched soon in the market.

In the meantime, Concept Creator, a well-known artist involved in creating concept renders of the upcoming smartphones has come up with an interesting concept for the Nokia Edge. Basically, the designer has conceptualized these renders based on the Nokia 8 images those were leaked previously. However, those Nokia 8 renders aren't legitimate, claim the media reports.

Buttonless Edge display As the name suggests, the Nokia Edge has been envisioned to feature a buttonless edge display as seen in the video. Also, it is said to have an under glass fingerprint sensor at the front. Powerful specs imagined The device has been imagined to house a Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage space. The imaging aspects are said to include a 14MP Carl Zeiss camera and an 8MP selfie camera as well. From the recent leaks, it is known that the Nokia 8 might use a Snapdragon 845 SoC.

There has been a lot of confusion regarding which will be the first Samsung phone with dual cameras. Some reports are saying that the Galaxy Note 8 will debut with a rear dual camera setup and some are hinting towards some other models.






The Galaxy C10, Galaxy C7 (2017) and the Galaxy J7 (2017) are on the expected list. While we don't know about the first, apparently Samsung is planning to launch a number of smartphones with dual cameras. Today, a Weibo user has posted a couple of pictures claimed to be of the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017). Both the front and back of the device is visible from the renders. Droid Holic has first noticed the pictures. 

The alleged Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) is in Black color. However, there should be more color variants. Talking about the design aspect, the phone seems to have narrow bezels and it features a physical home button. The front bezel holds the selfie camera and the Samsung branding can be seen as well.

Coming to the rear panel, the smartphone features a dual camera setup. The camera sensors are placed in a vertical housing, accompanied by a LED flash just below it. 

There is also the Samsung branding at the center of the rear panel. Unfortunately, the leakster has not revealed when will the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) will be unveiled.

 Currently, we are not even sure if this smartphone in the images is indeed the Galaxy J7 (2017), but the pictures do not look fake. So if not the Galaxy J7 (2017), some other Samsung smartphone with dual cameras is definitely coming down the pipe.

Xiaomi recently announced that the next iteration of its interface - MIUI 9 will be released on August 16. Even before the company confirmed the release date of the next big update, there were a handful of rumors teasing the interface and what it might bring to the table. Besides the other rumors, the company teased the MIUI 9 lock screen earlier this week.

While Xiaomi had confirmed the list of devices those will receive the MIUI 9 update once it is rolled out, there was no word on which of those devices will get the update based on Android Nougat at first. 

Now, there is a change in the same as the company's recent flagship smartphone - the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be the first one to receive the MIUI 9 update. Following the Mi 6, the other devices will get to relish the new flavor.

This information is not a rumor or speculation as the same has been revealed on the official MI forums. One of the administrators of the forum identified as Mushroom bread has posted the same in a group conversation.

 The post states that the engineers at Xiaomi have been rigorously working to release the MIUI 9 update on time. It also states that the first batch of the update will initially provide support only for the Mi 6.

Undoubtedly, the Mi 6, being the current flagship smartphone will receive the update first. However, there is no word on when the other devices will receive the MIUI 9 update.

A new Alcatel device has received certification from Federal Communications Commission or FCC in the US. The device which sports the model number H076 has been manufactured by TCL. The images and test reports submitted by the manufacturers to the FCC has revealed several details about the smartphone.

The report reveals that the smartphone will have compatibility with 2G GSM and 3G WCDMA networks. The device also supports LTE networks on several bandwidths including 2, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13 and 66. Now, recently Freedom Mobile, a Canadian wireless network provider deployed network support for Band 66. This gives a hint that the Canada may be one of the first few areas where the device is launched.

The images of the Alcatel H076 reveal details of its design ass well. The device sports front facing dual speakers. The rear panel of the device sports a single lens camera with a flash and a fingerprint sensor rests right below it. The headphone jack is placed on top of the smartphone while the micro USB port is on the opposite side.

The right side of the Alcatel H076 houses the power button as well as the volume rockers. The smartphone has a removable rear panel and SIM cards, as well as micro SD card, are housed below the rear panel.

The illustrations of the internal parts of the smartphone revealed that it will run on a MediaTek MT 6750 Soc. The chipset is a 64 bit, octa-core processor. The device will draw power from a 4000 mAh non-removable battery.

Now, that the smartphone has passed through FCC certification it is expected to be launched soon in the US
